Improving Sound Transmission Through Triple-Panel Structure Using Porous Material and Sonic Crystal

چکیده
Main aim of this study is to combine the characteristics sonic crystal (SC) with acoustic panels and porous materials improve sound transmission loss (STL) through triple-panel structure. SCs cause a bandgap centered around certain frequency (Bragg’s frequency) due generation destructive interference. Initially, an analytical method developed that extends previous theory double-panel structure predict STL Finite element (FE) simulations are performed obtain triple-panel, which validated predictions. Various configurations analyzed using FE based on inserting material between address combined effect. compared having same total weight thickness. It found triple panel SC glass wool as filler gives best soundproof performance for external dimensions. For narrow air gaps, filing more advantageous than one row SC. In addition, has better soundproofing two-panel counterparts.

Sound Transmission through a Curved Honeycomb Composite Panel
Composite structures are often used in aircraft because of the advantages offered by a high strength to weight ratio. However, the acoustical properties of these light and stiff structures can often be less than desirable resulting in high aircraft interior noise levels. In this paper, measurements and predictions of the transmission loss of a curved honeycomb composite panel are presented. The...
متن کاملInvestigation on acoustic behavior of acoustic porous absorbers to absorb sound energy and transmission loss index
In this study, the acoustic properties of porous absorbents with different porosity levels have been evaluated using different mathematical models. These models use one or more parameters of materials for calculating acoustic characteristics. In all of these models, materials are considered as equivalent fluid and reactionary characteristics have not been taken into account.
متن کاملTunable unidirectional sound propagation through a sonic-crystal-based acoustic diode.
Nonreciprocal wave propagation typically requires strong nonlinear materials to break time reversal symmetry. Here, we utilized a sonic-crystal-based acoustic diode that had broken spatial inversion symmetry and experimentally realized sound unidirectional transmission in this acoustic diode. These novel phenomena are attributed to different mode transitions as well as their associated differen...
متن کاملPrediction of airborne and structure borne sound transmission through hearing protectors using FEM
Individual hearing protection is a short term solution frequently used to protect workers against noise exposure. This work is part of a larger research program on the evaluation of real world attenuation of hearing protection devices (HPD) such as earplugs and earmuffs. Its objective is to develop a Finite Element (FE) model to predict both the airborne and structure borne sound transmission t...
متن کاملSound Transmission through Duct Walls
Acoustic &&breakout'' and &&breakin'' through duct walls had, until the late 1970s, been a rather neglected topic of research, particularly in the "eld of heating, ventilating and air-conditioning ducts. Since then, interest has grown and many publications have appeared in which predictive methods have been reported. Research in this area, especially that which has been conducted over the past ...
